COMPOST

Quality

Resource Group is dedicated to using technology and experience to aggregate wood waste from Urban Forests and landscaping to transform it into soil nurturing compost, an environmentally sustainable commodity.

We ensure our compost quality to lower the liability to the end-user from batch to batch. The implementation of a third-party and in-house composting testing program guarantees optimal compost quality and as well as compliance within compost programs.

The cost per acre of tomatoes or peppers is $18,000 including production and harvest. Traditional growers are reluctant to introduce ‘new inputs’ with high risk and no significant return on investment. An application of 3 tons/acre at $18/ton/acre plus $6/ton/acre spreading or $72/ton/acre plus transportation will make them liable for $18,000/acre. Inorganic fertilizer costs range from $800 to $1,100 per acre for watermelons, tomatoes, and peppers. Meanwhile, strawberries, beans, and corn require half as much. It is important to note that during the rainy season, those costs can increase significantly due to runoff losses. By seasonally applying organic matter those costs can be reduced by more than 30%.

Compost application justifies its investment by significantly increasing the overall quantity and quality of your yield. It also helps you save on fertilizer and water while growing your crops, reducing production costs, and is an inexpensive insurance policy for farmers.
