Resilience Through Sustainability

Transparency

Resource Group is passionate about sustainable, transparent, and ethical business practices. Our corporate governance has ingrained sustainability and climate change at every level. Resource has aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in an effort towards reducing water pollution, allowing for recycling and safe reuse, responsible consumption, and production, reducing waste generation, and achieving environmentally sound management of chemicals and wastes throughout their life cycle.

Certifications

Resource Group product is certified USDA Organic and undergoes rigorous compost testing, labeling and information disclosure designed to give you the information you need to get the maximum benefit from the use of compost.

URBAN FORESTS

• Florida produces over 1000 lbs. of urban wood and yard waste annually per person (50% of all waste) –10 million tons annually

• By law, in Florida (and other states) this material cannot be landfilled or incinerated in field, so sources must pay tipping fees to dispose of it

• Urban Collection Centers tend to be poorly capitalized, creating aggregation opportunity because they don’t have resources or expertise to effectively transform the waste into valuable products

Sustainability Framework

Resource integrates environmental, social and governance considerations in its business, as fundamental components that create and protect long-term asset values, alongside other good management practices as we continually identify opportunities and mitigate risk. Environmental, social, and governance considerations inform how Resource is managed, including its risk management framework and governance mechanisms for Board oversight. They also drive the development of investment strategies that meet the needs of our investors to deliver sustainable growth and maintain a positive impact on the environment.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Resource’s Sustainability Framework aligns with multiple of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. While the design of our strategies predates the September 2015 adoption of the SDGs by the United Nations General Assembly, we have found them powerful as a common articulation of impact objectives.

Vision

The vision of Resource Group is to vertically integrate aggregation and processing of urban wood and yard waste, using separated materials from feedstock processing to manufacture high quality compost. We can then see our compost used to grow organic foods, reduce soil erosion, increase water retention, reduce reliance on harmful chemical fertilizers, and manufacture high-quality, lower-cost energy pellet feedstock to support the huge global demand for sustainable, renewable biomass energy fuel.
